What is proper life span for a human?

In Genesis 6, 3 God said very specifically, "...man ...his days shall be a hundred and twenty years."  And that's about how long the oldest people live. So if anyone lives less than the hundred and twenty, they are doing something wrong.  Think of hundred and twenty is the very minimum target age to live to.
Before the flood people lived some 900 + years. After God made the announcement of man's life span to be a hundred and twenty years he caused the flood.  It seems as though the real cause of the flood was to get rid of all the people with the long-living genes.  Then God probably tweaked the DNA of Noah's family members to reduce the humans' life spans, which shrank rapidly with each generation.  The children of Noah's sons still lived 200 to 400 years, but the following generations only made it to the allowed 120 to 130 years.  I wonder if God set the telomeres' clock to measure the human years?
