There is a natural hormone our bodies produce when we feel good to feel even better, it is called Oxytocin.
Oxytocin is produced by the hypothalamus and released via the pituitary gland into the bloodstream and to the brain and the spinal cord. Oxytocin causes a release of endorphins and testosterone. It increases feelings of pleasure and wellbeing and counteracts the harmful effects of stress.
If you don't have a special someone, you can have the same beneficial stress reducing and calming effects you get from loving and kissing by taking Oxytocin. And if your relationship feels a bit stale, you can improve it by taking Oxitocin.
Oxitocin release is triggered by a touch, a kiss, and even an eye contact.
Oxytocin heightens emotional and maternal reaction in a mother to her new baby and helps to quicker establish a bond between them. It helps the breastfeeding to feel good and to help ignore the baby's biting. People also release the Oxytocin hormone during lovemaking and it appears to be responsible for causing orgasms in the first place.
Oxytocin encourages a desire to be kissed, held and cuddled. Being touched, even such as having your hairdresser work on your hair (you know that wonderful feeling when someone is touching your head), leads to a rise in Oxytocin levels. This causes a chain reaction within the body, including the release of endorphins.
Oxytocin was first synthesized in 1953 by American biochemist Vincent du Vigneaud, for which he received the Nobel Prize in 1955. For a long time Oxytocin was used by the hospitals only to help with labor and delivery. But recently it has been discovered to be very beneficial to everyone, not only to mothers in labor. Originally it had to be injected by a doctor, but lately new practical methods of delivery have been designed, such as drops under the tongue or a nasal spray, which allow for it to be absorbed into the bloodstream.
Oxytocin has been clinically proven to have a number of beneficial effects. Oxytocin is now used to help mood swings and depression, drug addition, autism, anxiety, schizophrenia, pain (particularly for fibromyalgia) and as an aid to weight loss (you know how when you're happy in love you don't crave comfort foods). In individuals, ( particularly in women) Oxytocin intensifies orgasms.
The typical oxytocin doses are 10 IUs in the morning and in the evening; or 10 to 20 IUs 2-hours before sex. It is not recommended to eat or drink for 10 minutes before and after to facilitate full absorption. It appears to work somewhat better under the tongue rather than in the nose. But you can decide what works better for you by getting trial sizes of both types.
