Use a fan in winter to make your room more comfortable
Using the fan seems a thing to do in the summer to cool off, but it is actually even more important to use the fan in the winter to keep the room warm. The hot air rises to the top, and you keep endlessly heating cold air, and it keeps on rising, so you waste a lot of money and still feel cold. To circulate the air keep your ceiling fan on on low setting, and if you don't have a ceiling fan, put whatever fan you have up on a tallest book shelf and aim it so it blows the warm air back down. You might have to change the setting of the ceiling fan, to make it rotate the other way, or to aim your other fan up - to blow air towards the ceiling to bounce it off it if it seems to be too chilly.
