A purring cat is good for your health and reduces risk of heart attacks

Finally a university did a study determining that owning a cat has greater health and longevity benefits than owning a dog! Cat owners are less likely to die of a heart disease, even though dog owners appear to get more exercise. Cats have super healing powers in their magic purr!

The study was done at the University of Minnesota Stroke Research Center, following 4,435 people  for a decade. The results of the study were presented at the American Stroke Association's International Stroke Conference in New Orleans. The study found that owning a cat is healthier than owning a dog. Catless people had a 40% greater incidence of heart attacks, strokes and cardiovascular illness.

Cats' purring appears to have a beneficial effect on the people holding a purring cat. A research scientist and bio-acoustic specialist Elizabeth Von Muggenthaler studied cats' purr. She found that the purring sound has a frequency good for healing muscle, tendon, and ligament injuries, as well as any type of joint injury, wound healing, reduction of infection and swelling, pain relief, and relief of chronic pulmonary disease. I know for a fact that it's true - whenever I was sick, holding my cat always helped a great deal.

Doctors should be writing on their prescription pads, "Get a cat and keep it purring a lot."

I put a couple of links here for you to some wonderful products. The Kidney Support tonic saved my cat's life, when the vet said that poor Tessa was doomed. She had kidney failure - a rather common problem in modern cats caused by poor diet and/or exposure to toxins like pesticides. I am very impressed with this company's products and strongly recommend them.

This is Sammy. I painted his portrait in acrylic on canvas.
Please contact me if you want a portrait of your cat painted.

This is Tessa.

This is my fat cat Iris:
